      The Investigative Committee is checking the details of a man's death after an attack by teenagers in Nizhny Novgorod, the agency's information committee reported.

      It was noted that media reported that the teenagers — a 15-year-old boy and a 13-year-old girl — beat the man after he refused to give them a cigarette and a mobile phone. The victim subsequently died from the beatings.

      A criminal case has been opened and is being investigated under part 4 of Article 111 of the Russian Criminal Code — intentional infliction of grievous bodily harm that negligently resulted in the victim's death.

      The head of the Investigative Committee of Russia, Alexander Bastrykin, instructed the head of the Investigative Department of the IC for the Nizhny Novgorod Region, Alexander Akhmetshin, to present a report on the progress of the investigation and the circumstances already established.

      Earlier it was reported that Bastrykin would be briefed on the murder of a woman in Dzerzhinsk.
