More than a hundred years have passed since the first military aircraft appeared in the armament of our country. During this time the fighters of the Russian Air Force have written many heroic pages into the history of the formation of the unit: from the first demonstrations of the combat and reconnaissance potential of the air fleet to the extremely complex combat missions that our military pilots are capable of carrying out today.
Among those who made a significant contribution to domestic military aviation, an honorable place is occupied by our fellow countrymen. These include the legendary pilot Pyotr Nesterov, who carried out the first aerial ramming in 1914. And Valery Chkalov, who personally tested more than 70 types of aircraft, including fighters, and invented new figures of advanced aerobatics. And the heroes Vasily Ryazanov and Arseny Vorozheykin, whose names are forever inscribed in the chronicle of the Great Patriotic War.
Today's servicemen of the Air Force worthily continue the work of their predecessors. Special thanks to the pilots who are participating in the special military operation today. You respond bravely and skillfully to a wide range of situations, professionally and virtuously carry out combat tasks. You are an example for the younger generation; thanks to you our Motherland is under reliable protection!
