In Bashkortostan, a criminal case has been sent to court against former railway workers who stole locomotive fuel.

      The transport prosecutor of Sterlitamak has approved an indictment in a criminal case against four former employees of the Wagon Repair Plant. They are accused under paragraph “a” of part 2 of Article 158 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (theft).

      According to the investigation, in 2025 in Sterlitamak at the Wagon Repair Plant a train assembler and three locomotive drivers stole diesel fuel from locomotives. They resold the stolen fuel to third parties at a reduced price. In total they stole about one tonne of fuel, causing material damage to the enterprise in excess of 55,000 rubles.

      The illegal activity was stopped by transport police officers. The damage caused was reimbursed by the defendants; they were dismissed from the plant.

      The transport prosecutor has sent the criminal case to the Sterlitamak City Court of the Republic of Bashkortostan for trial on the merits.
