Nizhny Novgorod residents receive an increased pension for working in agriculture.

      More than 15 thousand residents of Nizhny Novgorod Oblast receive an increased pension for many years of work in agriculture, the press service of the Social Fund (SFR) reported.

      The supplement amounts to 25% of the fixed payment to the insurance pension. In 2025 this sum equals 2,226.93 rubles.

      The supplement is available to non-working pensioners who have worked at least 30 years in agriculture. Occupations included in a special list approved by the Government of the Russian Federation are taken into account. It includes specialties such as tractor drivers, agronomists, agricultural machinery operators, veterinarians, livestock breeders, beekeepers, milking-machine operators, agricultural equipment repair fitters and others.

      In addition, work in kolkhozes, sovkhozes and other agricultural organizations before 1 January 1992 is counted toward agricultural service.

      The increase in the fixed payment is granted upon meeting three conditions: having an insurance pension for old age or disability, at least 30 years of agricultural service, and residence in a rural area without official employment.

      The supplement can be applied for through the Gosuslugi portal or in person at a Social Fund client service office. The right to the increased payment is retained even if the pensioner moves to a city.

      Earlier it was reported that the recalculation of insurance pensions for working residents of Nizhny Novgorod took effect on 1 August.
