Nizhny Novgorod Interdistrict Nature Conservation Prosecutor’s Office has identified violations of water and land legislation in Bor. This was reported by the Volga Interregional Nature Conservation Prosecutor’s Office.
The investigation established that one local resident illegally included over 1,800 square meters of shoreline and water area of the Cheboksary Reservoir within the boundaries of their land plot.
To restore these lands to state ownership, the prosecutor’s office filed a lawsuit. The court granted the supervisory authority’s claims.
The prosecutor’s office added that, after the decision comes into legal force, they will monitor its actual enforcement.
It was previously reported that a resident of Nizhny Novgorod would be sentenced for failing to fulfill the obligation to clean Lake Gorky.
