Approximately 30 million rubles were allocated for the procurement of equipment for Borskaya Central District Hospital.

Approximately 30 million rubles have been allocated for the purchase of equipment for the new outpatient rehabilitation department, which opened last August at the polyclinic No. 2 of the Borsk Central District Hospital. The purchase of medical technology is being carried out within the framework of the program "Optimal Medical Rehabilitation for Health Restoration" under the national project "Long-lasting and Active Life."

As noted by the hospital management, over the year, the department has become an important link in the healthcare system of the Borsk district, helping patients with musculoskeletal and peripheral nervous system diseases return to a full life.

"Our task is not just to provide medical assistance, but to create conditions where the patient feels comfortable and motivated to recover. That is why we pay special attention to the atmosphere: light-filled rooms, a friendly staff, and currently, we have an art exhibition by local artist Galina Petrova in the department. Rehabilitation is a long process requiring efforts from both doctors and the patient themselves, and it’s important that the patient feels like returning here," said Elena Grebyonkina, chief physician of Borsk Central District Hospital.

The creation of the rehabilitation department became possible thanks to the program "Modernization of Primary Healthcare" under the national project "Healthcare." In 2024, major repairs were carried out and a new elevator installed to make the space accessible to all. In 2025, the department was equipped with modern equipment as part of the program "Optimal Medical Rehabilitation for Health Restoration" under the new national project "Long-lasting and Active Life."

In the first year of operation, nearly 700 patients received assistance. It is planned to admit about 900 people from across the region during 2025. The treatment course lasts 10-12 days.

Already received in the department are an ultrasound system, interference electric stimulation devices, a biofeedback cycle ergometer (BES), and a kinesitherapy table. In July, a mud therapy room using therapeutic mud from the Saki deposit was opened, and recently, a decompression device for spinal traction and vibrational-heating massage was added.

A multidisciplinary team of specialists works in the department: doctors of physical and rehabilitation medicine, physiotherapists, ergotherapists, kinesiotherapists, medical psychologists, massage therapists, and nurses. Patients undergo physiotherapy procedures, engage in therapeutic exercises, mechanotherapy, and attend psychological training.

"We see how the people who come to us for treatment change. When pain subsides, mobility returns, and most importantly, confidence in their own strength, that is the true result. The new equipment allows us to expand assistance possibilities: for example, dosed spinal traction is effective for osteochondrosis, hernias, and early-stage scoliosis," said Natalia Yausheva, head of the department.

As noted by the regional Ministry of Health, additional modern equipment is expected to be delivered shortly: a functional electrical stimulation device, a laser complex, and a deep electromagnetic stimulation system. Trainers for long-term passive joint mobilization of the upper and lower limbs, a stabilography system, and a specialized running track will also be supplied.

The high quality of medical rehabilitation is confirmed by numerous positive reviews from grateful patients.

"Today I completed my rehabilitation course in the department. I want to thank the doctors, nurses, and all staff! Very clean and bright department, attentive and responsive specialists. I have never seen frowning faces — only smiles and care. Nurses help each other out if needed, asking several times, 'Is everything okay?' I am very satisfied with the treatment results, thank you very much!" shared one patient.

"When the surrounding people are kind, and the department is bright and cozy, I want to make efforts to get back on my feet again. They don’t just treat here — they truly help you return to life," says another patient who completed the rehabilitation course.

The art exhibition by Galina Petrova, displayed in the department, has become another element of therapy, confirming that health recovery is a comprehensive process involving modern technology, human participation, and creative expression.

Recall that the national project "Long-lasting and Active Life" has been implemented across the country since 2025 under the directive of Russian President Vladimir Putin. It fulfills tasks previously outlined in the "Healthcare" national project. The new national project aims to increase life expectancy by 2030 and involves updating clinics, outpatient centers, paramedic stations, attracting more qualified medical personnel, applying new approaches in prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of chronic diseases, improving emergency medical services and rehabilitation systems, developing a network of national research centers, and digitalization of the industry.
