In Nizhny Novgorod, police arrested the person responsible for the deadly accident in the Moskovsky district, who fled the scene. This was reported by the press service of the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia for the Nizhny Novgorod Region.
The accident occurred on August 1 on the sixth kilometer of the "Krasny Mys – Gnilitskie Dvoryki" highway. A 50-year-old driver in a Lada Largus entered the oncoming lane, leading to a collision with a VAZ car. The man, upon realizing the accident had serious consequences, fled the scene. However, he was detained the next day by police officers.
As a result of the accident, the passenger and driver of the VAZ were injured. One more passenger died. An investigation has been opened into the incident. The offender faces up to 12 years in prison.
