Another underground crypto farm has been shut down in the Nizhny Novgorod region.

      On August 4, 2025, at 18:48 [280], Incidents In the Lukoyanovsky district, another underground cryptocurrency platform was identified and stopped. This was reported by the Nizhny Novgorod prosecutor's office. From February to April 2025, an unknown individual organized the operation of mining equipment directly in a residential building on Lesnaya Street in the village of Tetyushi. To power the equipment, he unauthorizedly connected to the electrical grid without signing any contracts or paying for consumption. As a result, damages to the energy company exceeded one million rubles — the amount of unaccounted electricity consumed. After an investigation, the materials were handed over to the investigators. A criminal case was initiated under the article for causing property damage through deception or abuse of trust, without signs of theft, but on a large scale. The illegal farm has already been disconnected. The investigation is ongoing and remains under the control of the district prosecutor’s office.
