Nizhny Novgorod's "Torpedo" changed the team's logo
On August 1, 2025, at 12:36, [154], the Nizhny Novgorod hockey club "Torpedo" unveiled its restyling for the 2025/2026 season. The main change was the team’s logo.
The emblem has undergone few changes since the club’s founding. The now familiar head of a deer became the official logo only in 2017. In 2022, the image became more graphic, and from this year, the deer looks to the right instead of to the left.
By the way, not all fans appreciated these changes. The Nizhny Novgorod residents note that the old logo was more pleasing to the eye, and the "mirrored" deer seems to have taken offense and turned away.
"From left to right — that’s how we read text, that’s how the gaze moves. The new 'Torpedo' logo is integrated into this visual rhythm. The deer does not conflict with the movement — it defines it. It’s not just a symbol, but a compass: our club paves its own way. We are not following someone — we are leading. The deer’s image has been refined — the gaze is more focused, the ears better convey character, and the silhouette is cleaner and more powerful. We did not abandon the symbol — we made it more modern and expressive," said club representatives.
Questions also arose regarding the new color palette. Now, the corporate colors are dark blue, blue, cool gray, light gray, and white. The red color has disappeared from the palette, which "white-blue" fans are undoubtedly accustomed to.
"A special shade of blue is no coincidence. We searched long for our tone — unique, recognizable, 'Torpedo-like.' It has become the foundation of our visual identity. It is a color of confidence, depth, and strength," the club officials commented on the changes.
The new merchandise includes various patterns, including Khokhloma painting. The team’s game uniform has also been modified, but details are not yet disclosed.
On August 1, "Torpedo" begins pre-season training, with players undergoing medical examinations.
It was previously reported that "Torpedo" will start the new season with a three-game home series. Most likely, the games will be held at "Nagorny," as the construction of the new Ice Arena on Strelka is currently only 93% complete.
