A resident of Nizhny Novgorod will stand trial for an accident with four fatalities.

      Accidents In the Nizhny Novgorod region, the investigation of a criminal case against a 26-year-old man accused of a fatal traffic accident has been completed. The tragedy claimed the lives of four people. This was reported by the regional Investigative Committee of Russia.

      The accident occurred on July 4, 2024, during the day on a highway heading towards the town of Bolshoe Murashkino. The driver of a Mazda 6 lost control, causing the car to swerved into the oncoming lane and collide with two other vehicles.

      As a result of the accident, a passenger in the defendant’s vehicle died, along with the driver and two passengers of the second car.

      The defendant, who previously worked in a correctional colony, fully admitted his guilt. The investigation has gathered sufficient evidence, and the criminal case has been sent to court for trial.

      The man has been charged under Part 5 of Article 264 of the Criminal Code of Russia — violation of traffic rules that resulted in the accidental death of two or more persons.

      Previously, the State Traffic Safety Inspectorate named the regions of the Nizhny Novgorod region where accidents most often occur.
