A verdict has been pronounced in Ulyanovsk in the criminal case of sabotage at a railway transport facility.

      The Ulianovsk Regional Court sentenced a local resident in connection with a criminal case. He was found guilty of part 3 of article 30, item "a" of part 2 of article 281 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (attempted sabotage), and item "a" of part 2 of article 281 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (sabotage). The court established that in July 2023, with the aim of damaging transportation infrastructure objects on the Ulianovsk-Laishevka section of the Kuybyshev Railway, he set fire to two relay and two battery cabinets, resulting in the destruction of the objects. Furthermore, in June 2023, the defendant planned to set fire to other railway transport objects but was unable to complete these plans due to circumstances beyond his control. Considering the position of the state prosecutor of the Ulianovsk Transport Prosecutor's Office, the court found the defendant guilty and sentenced him to 8 years of imprisonment to be served in a general regime corrective colony.
