48 people died at the Nizhny Novgorod water bodies in two months

      Incidents Since the start of the swimming season, that is, from June 1, 53 incidents on water have been recorded in the Nizhny Novgorod region, resulting in 48 deaths. Nine people were rescued. This was reported by the regional EMERCOM.

      According to rescuers, 37 people drowned while swimming. Among the deceased are four children. The main cause of water-related tragedies remains alcohol intoxication. In the case of minors, it is a lack of proper supervision by adults.

      Russia’s EMERCOM once again urges residents to follow basic safety rules at water bodies.

      Earlier, it was reported that two teenagers aged 14 and 16 drowned in the Nizhny Novgorod region in one day.
