Incidents A native of Nizhny Novgorod and former governor of Tambov Region, Maxim Yegorov, has been detained on bribery charges, TASS reports.
According to law enforcement agencies, Yegorov is accused of receiving a large bribe. A case has been initiated.
It is noted that searches are already being conducted at the suspect's residence.
Maxim Yegorov worked in the administration of the Leninsky District of Nizhny Novgorod and in "Nizhny Novenergo" in the late 1990s and early 2000s.
On November 4, 2024, by decree of the head of state, Yegorov was dismissed from his position as governor of Tambov Region.
Earlier, it was reported that the Investigative Committee had opened a bribery case against former head of the Nizhny Novgorod "GUMMiD," Levdikov. It is also recalled that Vladimir Isaev, the former head of the Sovetsky District of Nizhny Novgorod, was sentenced to 8 years in prison for bribery.
