      SocietyDoctors will no longer be penalized for deviating from clinical guidelines if their actions are justified and aimed at the patient's well-being. This was announced by Evgeny Lyulin, the chairman of the Legislative Assembly of the Nizhny Novgorod region, on his social media channels.

      According to him, at the end of last year, experts from the healthcare council under the Committee on Social Policy submitted proposals to the State Duma and the Ministry of Health of the Russian Federation to change the approach to organizing the medical process.

      Recently, these amendments were officially adopted at the federal level.

      Under the updated law, clinical guidelines are no longer considered a strictly mandatory protocol. Now, a doctor has the right to deviate from them if the patient's condition requires it: the presence of comorbidities, complications, individual intolerance to medications, and other health features.

      The main condition is that the doctor must justify their decision in the medical documentation and obtain informed consent from the patient.

      "This eliminates the unfair situation where a doctor could be penalized both for deviating from instructions and for complications caused by strict adherence to them," noted Evgeny Lyulin.

      He emphasized that now, the priority is no longer formal compliance with regulations but the health and well-being of the individual.
