Nizhny Novgorod resident to be sentenced for failure to perform duties to clean Lake Gorky

      A resident of Nizhny Novgorod has been charged with intentional non-fulfillment of court decisions regarding the cleaning of the Gorky Sea. This was reported by the regional prosecutor's office.

      It is noted that the supervisory authority approved the indictment in the criminal case and sent the materials to court.

      According to investigators, the defendant, an employee of a government agency, evaded execution of court decisions for two years despite being personally responsible for fulfilling these requirements.

      According to an appellate ruling by the Kostroma Regional Court dated September 27, 2021, the Federal Budgetary Institution "Administration of the Volga Basin of Inland Waterways" was required to clear the Gorky Reservoir and its shoreline of decommissioned vessels by October 1, 2022.

      Additionally, by a decision of the Nizhny Novgorod District Court on November 7, 2022, the institution was obliged to organize the raising and removal of remnants of decommissioned vessels from the Cheboksary Reservoir area. These vessels lacked identification marks and ownership.

      Despite having financial resources from revenue-generating activities, the defendant for an extended period ignored lawful demands from bailiffs and did not take necessary measures.

      His actions will now be evaluated in court.

      It was previously reported that in Uren District, a criminal case was initiated after a prosecutor's check into the falsification of documents.
