      A comprehensive set of measures to improve reliability and safety has been completed on the Nizhny Novgorod cableway, following an unscheduled inspection by the Volga-Ok General Directorate of Rostekhnadzor.

      According to the department, the inspection of LLC "Urbantech Service" was initiated after media reports about a malfunction in the operating mechanism of the doors in one of the cabins.

      Specialists identified several violations on the Nizhny Novgorod cableway: a faulty cabin was not timely decommissioned, the operation of the cableway was not halted, and one of the officials lacked the necessary certification in industrial safety.

      As a result of the inspection, an act was drafted, and an order was issued with deadlines for rectifying the violations. Administrative cases were initiated against the legal and official persons under Article 9.1 of the Administrative Offenses Code of the Russian Federation.

      The operating organization reported that they had carried out a series of activities to enhance the reliability of the crossing. Specifically, the cabin with the malfunctioning mechanism was repaired, and the cable was replaced. Together with the equipment manufacturer, the systems for opening and closing the doors across all cabins were checked. Additionally, operational instructions for personnel in various situations were revised, with ROSHENADZOR representatives participating in their development.

      Recall that in spring, a major modernization of the Nizhny Novgorod cableway was carried out, resulting in a doubling of the number of cabins.
