Diving teams in Nizhny Novgorod are conducting a re-examination of the beaches.

      In Nizhny Novgorod, divers have begun re-examining the coastal areas of city beaches. As explained by the Municipal Public Institution "Management of Civil Defense and Emergency Situations," this measure is aimed at ensuring safety and comfort for residents and tourists during the peak swimming season.

      To date, specialists have already conducted underwater inspections of beaches and recreation areas in the Autozavodsky, Kanavinsky, and Leninsky districts, as well as part of the Sormovsky district. Work is ongoing and, expected to be completed by the end of the week in all city districts.

      The management reminded that this year, 14 well-maintained beaches and 5 official water recreation zones have been prepared for residents of Nizhny Novgorod. All have undergone comprehensive inspections by an interdepartmental commission. On these territories, facilities such as changing cabins, toilets, trash bins, safe swimming zones, and informational stands with water safety rules have been installed.

      Beach cleaning is carried out daily by utility services. Additionally, lifeguards are on duty at each official beach.

      Special attention is paid to the safety of visitors during hot days. Staff conduct preventive briefings and remind everyone: according to regional legislation, children under 16 are only permitted to stay on the beach and swim when accompanied by adults.

      It is recall that another water incident occurred near Krasnye Baki: a man's body was found in the Vetluga River there. Since the start of the swimming season, more than 30 people have drowned in the Nizhny Novgorod region.
