      In the Nizhny Novgorod region, the free psychological support program under the "Emergency Demographic Assistance" project is expanding. This was reported by the region’s governor, Gleb Nikitin, on his Telegram channel.

      Now, professional assistance will be available not only to women suffering from postpartum depression but also to those facing fertility issues, as well as couples in crisis or other difficult life situations. Consultations will be available both in person at women’s clinics and remotely via video call.

      Appointments can be made by calling the helpline: 8-800-775-31-52, and will soon be available on the website: osnovano.rf.

      The regional head noted that previously, such assistance was only provided in women’s clinics and exclusively to attached patients. This significantly limited access to psychological support for women from other municipalities and regions. Now, specialists will be able to provide help regardless of attachment, including residents of remote areas.

      Nikitin also emphasized that this innovation will greatly expand the circle of recipients and reduce the workload on specialists at women’s clinics, who primarily work with pregnant women. According to him, the postpartum period is also extremely stressful and requires special attention from professionals.

      It was previously reported that new support measures for families with children came into effect in the Nizhny Novgorod region on July 1.
