      Society In the settlement of Gorodetsky, Gorodetsky Municipal District, a case of rabies has been recorded in a dog. This was reported by the press service of the Rosselkhoznadzor administration for the Nizhny Novgorod region and the Republic of Mari El.

      According to them, the diagnosis was confirmed after laboratory tests conducted at the State Budgetary Institution of the Nizhny Novgorod Region "Regional Veterinary Laboratory."

      Following the detection of the infection, a set of epizootic prevention measures organized by the state veterinary service is in effect on the territory.

      The administration reminds pet owners of the need to strictly observe sanitary requirements. In the event of a bite, the animal must be brought within 12 hours to a specialized institution for examination by a veterinarian from the state veterinary service. After that, it is placed in solitary confinement under veterinary supervision for 10 calendar days.

      Specialists urge dog and cat owners to be vigilant, monitor their pets' condition, and vaccinate them in a timely manner.

      It was previously reported that in the village of Chernukha, Arzamas urban district, a laboratory-confirmed case of rabies was found in a dog.
