      The Head of the Investigative Committee of Russia, Alexander Bastrykin, demanded a report on the investigation into the case of an electric scooter hitting a baby in Nizhny Novgorod, as reported by the agency's central office.

      The incident occurred in the Avtozavodsky district. A man riding an electric scooter hit a small child. The child sustained injuries and was taken to a medical facility for assistance.

      Following the incident, the investigative authorities of the RF Investigative Committee for the Nizhny Novgorod region initiated a criminal case under Article 268 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation. This article provides for liability for violations of safety rules for transportation operation.

      Bastrykin instructed the head of the regional investigative department, Airat Akhmetshin, to present a detailed report on the progress of the investigation and the circumstances established so far. The investigation is ongoing.

      It was earlier reported that a teenager attacked a man sitting on the street and fired a signaling pistol at his face in Dzerzhinsk.
