The Federal Labour Inspection Service in the Nizhny Novgorod Region has launched an investigation following a fatal traffic accident involving officials from Chuvashia on the M-7 "Volga" highway in the Vorotynsky district. This was reported by its press service.
The accident occurred on July 15. Two people died, and another was seriously injured.
It is noted that the vehicle, a Geely, was carrying employees of the Cheboksary municipal district administration of the Chuvash Republic. The driver was an employee of the MBU "CХО Cheboksary Municipal District." Along with him, in the car were the deputy head of the district administration—head of the organizational, control, legal, and personnel department, as well as the head of the legal department. All three were returning from a business trip from Nizhny Novgorod.
As a result of the collision, the driver and the head of the legal department died at the scene. The deputy head of the administration sustained multiple injuries and was hospitalized.
The Federal Labour Inspection Service reported that a report of the workplace incident was not submitted by the employer within the legally prescribed timeframe. This is considered a violation of Article 228.1 of the Labor Code of the Russian Federation.
Ilya Moshes, the chief state labor inspector in the Nizhny Novgorod Region, noted that an official investigation has been initiated in accordance with current legislation. Its purpose is to establish all the circumstances and causes of the incident.
It was previously reported that a tanker driver died behind the wheel in the Nizhny Novgorod Region, and the State Inspection has launched an investigation.
