The premiere of the crime comedy "Run" (16+) took place at the opening of the ninth festival of new Russian cinema "Gorky fest" (18+) on July 10. The creators of the film spoke about the filming process and its meaning, according to NI "Nizhny Novgorod" correspondent.
The film festival runs from July 10 to July 16. The central theme is avant-garde in cinema and domestic art. Non-competitive and educational programs focus on understanding the contemporary film process through the lens of classical heritage and biographical cinema. Residents of Nizhny Novgorod can attend lectures, discussions, and presentations dedicated to key issues of the film industry.
"We all do everything so that people watch movies, admire them, experience certain emotions, go to cinemas, and watch at home. In short, live in the world of cinema," noted Porechenkov.
The main roles in the opening film were played by People's Artist of Russia and festival president Mikhail Porechenkov and Nikita Kologriviy. The story centers on a bear thief named Sasha (Kologriviy), who, breaking into a country house to steal, unexpectedly witnesses a brutal murder. The owner of the house (Porechenkov) kills his wife, and upon noticing an uninvited guest, begins hunting for him. Sasha tries to escape, hiding throughout the city. But besides fighting for his life, the protagonist faces a personal drama: he must get to his son's morning performance, as his ability to keep his family depends on it.
"This film is about love and the desire to find that love. I am always attracted to characters who have to work on themselves. I play a father, and my character is just that guy who has a lot to fix in his life. I learn from these characters," Nikita Kologriviy told journalists.
Director and screenwriter of the film Roman Artemyev noted that the journey to creating the film was long, but thanks to the efforts of the team and actors, everything turned out as planned.
"For me, it's a great honor to present this film. We took a long time to get to it. We ran and ran, and finally, we arrived. I want to thank the entire team, both here and not present today. It was a great pleasure to work with you. You inspired me. I hope I didn't trouble you too much," added Artemyev.
The film will be released nationwide on September 11.
Recall, the premiere in Nizhny Novgorod took place during special screenings of the non-competition program. The competition program will feature 19 films, which will be judged by an expert jury.
