      More than 1 million tons of grain have been harvested by farmers in the Nizhny Novgorod region. According to operational data from the regional Ministry of Agriculture, 359 thousand hectares have been harvested. Timely harvesting of the crop directly contributes to achieving the goals of the national project "Technological Support for Food Security," as it allows for the preservation of the maximum volume of products, reduces losses, and lays the foundation for sustainable production growth and technological independence of the agro-industrial complex. "We have reached an important milestone: farmers have harvested one million tons of grain. The harvesting of grains, oilseeds, potatoes, and vegetables continues. Despite weather conditions and other challenges, farmers are not slowing down and are confidently moving forward — this is truly worthy work that we have the right to be proud of. By the end of the harvesting campaign, the region plans to produce at least one and a half million tons of grain. This volume will be sufficient to fully meet the region's needs," noted the Deputy Governor of the Nizhny Novgorod Region, Yegor Polyakov. The Minister of Agriculture and Food Resources of the region, Nikolai Denisov, noted that almost all districts have exceeded the 50% mark of the plan. "The yield of grains is at the level of 30 quintals per hectare. The harvesting of other crops continues. 28 thousand tons of potatoes have been harvested, and almost 3 thousand tons of vegetables have been prepared. In addition, forage harvesting continues in the region. The plan for silage has been exceeded, with 658 thousand tons harvested. For hay, 92 percent of the plan has been completed — 122 thousand tons, and for silage — 16 percent — almost 124 thousand tons. At the same time, the sowing of winter crops continues," said Nikolai Denisov. According to operational data from the Nizhny Novgorod Ministry of Agriculture, grain crops are being sown in 36 districts. 74 thousand hectares have been sown — 34% of the planned area. Recall that the national project "Technological Support for Food Security" began operating in Russia in 2025 by order of President Vladimir Putin. Its main goal is the development of the agro-industrial complex of Russia and its technological independence to ensure the availability of all necessary products in the country and to provide greater opportunities for strengthening positions in the global market. The national project includes five federal projects: "Biotechnology in the Agro-Industrial Complex," "Breeding and Genetics," "Veterinary Drugs," "Equipment and Machinery for the Agro-Industrial Complex," and "Personnel in the Agro-Industrial Complex."
