The investment potential of the Nizhny Novgorod region was presented to large businesses.

September 3, 2026 09:30 Economy More than 80 leaders of major companies participated in a meeting with the investment team of the Nizhny Novgorod region. Representatives of government and business discussed solutions that could accelerate the implementation of new investment projects and contribute to strengthening the region's economy. The event was organized by the Development Corporation of the Nizhny Novgorod region.

The meeting was attended by the governor of the Nizhny Novgorod region, Gleb Nikitin, deputy governor Yegor Polyakov, deputy chairman of the regional government Arthur Batursky, general director of the Development Corporation of the Nizhny Novgorod region Igor Ishchenko, chairman of the ZSNO Evgeny Lyulin, and head of the Volga-Vyatka GUB of the Bank of Russia Andrey Popov.

Yegor Polyakov noted that a professional investment team has been formed in the Nizhny Novgorod region and a favorable environment for investment and living has been created. According to him, the region continues to improve legislation and work on promoting existing opportunities among entrepreneurs.

"In the Nizhny Novgorod region, a professional investment team is working hard for every investor. In addition, a favorable environment for investment and living has been created in the region; people come to work and relax with us, creating demand for business," emphasized Yegor Polyakov.

He also urged companies to invest in research and development, using the infrastructure already created in the region, particularly the "Technopark N20" located in the special economic zone "Kulibin."

General Director of the Development Corporation of the Nizhny Novgorod region Igor Ishchenko and Director of Infrastructure Projects at AVA GROUP Konstantin Nikonorov presented entrepreneurs with prospects for the development of the region's investment infrastructure. In particular, they discussed plans for the construction of industrial parks, the creation of ready-made industrial sites in the territory of the SEZ "Kulibin" in Bor, and clusters of the innovative scientific and technological center "Quantum Valley."

Executive Director of the Association of Industrial Parks of Russia Denis Zhuravsky spoke about federal trends in the creation of ready-made industrial sites and best practices for developing industrial infrastructure.

Head of the Volga-Vyatka GUB of the Bank of Russia Andrey Popov informed business representatives about the parameters of the key rate to focus on and suggested paying more attention to stock market instruments.

Deputy Director for Development of the Association of Clusters, Technoparks, and SEZs of Russia Timofey Buneev presented best practices for implementing ESG principles in preferential territories.

Meeting participants also discussed existing business support measures, the development of export activities, and other issues of investment policy.

According to Igor Ishchenko, the Nizhny Novgorod region is interested in investment projects in various sectors—from tourism to heavy industry. To implement them, preferential territories are being created in the region, and new practices for interacting with business are being introduced.

The event also reminded that as of the end of 2025, the Nizhny Novgorod region secured second place in the National Rating of the Investment Climate of the ASI.

Speaker of the regional parliament Evgeny Lyulin called the meeting an opportunity for direct dialogue between business and government. According to him, the parties discuss the real requests of entrepreneurs, existing infrastructure constraints, and ways to eliminate them.

"We consider the special economic zone 'Kulibin' and the industrial sites of the region as a territory of opportunities, where investors should receive maximum preferences—from tax benefits to ready-made engineering infrastructure. The common task of deputies and the regional government is to create conditions under which investments come to the Nizhny Novgorod region and turn into modern production and new jobs," noted Evgeny Lyulin.

Improving the investment climate is one of the tasks of the national project "Effective and Competitive Economy," initiated by Russian President Vladimir Putin.

Earlier, we reported that three residents of the "Quantum Valley" entered the register of small technological companies.

We also remind you that on September 1, Governor of the Nizhny Novgorod region Gleb Nikitin discussed the development of enterprises and the city with industrialists from Dzerzhinsk.
