The site for the construction of the metro in Sormovo will be cleared by the end of 2026.

      On September 4, 2026, 10:39 Society In the Sormovo district of Nizhny Novgorod, work has begun to clear the site for the future metro station. On Station Street, workers are demolishing private buildings located on the territory of the future construction site, as reported by the MAX channel "MetroNN."

      Prior to this, the city purchased the properties located here and registered them as municipal property. After that, the buildings, garages, and other structures were disconnected from electricity, water, and gas.

      Now the area is being cleared of the remaining structures. The cleanup is planned to be completed by the end of the year.

      Let us remind you that the contract for the extension of the metro in Sormovo was signed in August 2022. Its cost is 19.4 billion rubles. The new station is planned to be built near the railway platform.

      In April, the general contractor of the project, GC "Mostproject-3," reported the completion of a significant part of the engineering surveys. The main construction work is planned to begin after the design and documentation approval is completed.
