The event for the Day of Solidarity in the Fight Against Terrorism took place at the Nizhny Novgorod Kremlin.
September 3, 2026 17:27 Society On September 3, an event dedicated to the Day of Solidarity in the Fight Against Terrorism took place at the Eternal Flame in Nizhny Novgorod Kremlin, established in memory of the tragic events that occurred in Beslan 22 years ago. Representatives of the regional government, leaders of law enforcement agencies, public and youth organizations, students from cadet educational organizations, as well as activists from the regional branch of the "YUNARMIA" movement and the regional branch of the "Movement of the First" in Nizhny Novgorod region came to honor the memory of the victims of terrorist acts and lay flowers. The event aims to strengthen civic solidarity in countering terrorism, to instill in young people a rejection of the ideology of terrorism, and to preserve the memory of the victims of terrorist acts. "On this important day, we not only honor the memory of those who have passed. We demonstrate our civic solidarity and promise the younger generation that we will do everything to ensure that the horrors of those days never happen again. Only together, remembering the past, can we protect the future," emphasized the Minister of Youth Policy of Nizhny Novgorod region, Svetlana Anufrieva. Also on this day, a memorial event dedicated to the Day of Solidarity in the Fight Against Terrorism took place in Nizhny Novgorod at Marshal Zhukov Square. Flowers were laid at the Eternal Flame by students, local residents, and employees of the Prioksky district administration. Preschool children brought paper white doves to the memorial - a symbol of peace and hope. Educational events for students were held in the 1st of May Park, timed to coincide with the Day of Solidarity in the Fight Against Terrorism. Creative and intellectual platforms were set up here: schoolchildren painted, participated in a checkers tournament, and attended informative master classes. As part of the "We are for Peace!" campaign, residents of Nizhny Novgorod answered quiz questions and received informational flyers and souvenirs. On this day, 11 "Good Centers" of the Volunteer Center of Nizhny Novgorod region held memory lessons in schools, rallies in parks, and events in public places. Participants in the events were told not only facts about the tragedy of September 2004 but also stories of incredible courage - about teachers who, at the cost of their own lives, saved children, shielding them with their bodies. They also remembered the heroes of the special forces who went into open fire to rescue hostages. An important part of the events was a discussion of safety rules: how to behave during an evacuation, if taken hostage, or in a crowd engulfed in panic.
