Honored Teacher of the Russian Federation Alexander Checherin has passed away in the Nizhny Novgorod region.

      On August 24, 2026, 18:18 Science Teacher, honorary citizen of the Balakhna district Alexander Alexandrovich Checherin passed away on August 23. The Balakhna branch of NNGU named after Lobachevsky reported his death. Alexander Alexandrovich was born on May 11, 1947. It is noted that his entire conscious life was connected with the system of secondary vocational education, the training of professional personnel, as well as the upbringing of youth and students. He rose from a student to the director of the Balakhna Polytechnic College and the head of the SPO department (now the Balakhna branch of NNGU). For many years of conscientious work in the upbringing of youth, he was awarded state honors, including the titles of "Honored Worker of Secondary Vocational Education of the Russian Federation," "Honored Teacher of the Russian Federation," "Veteran of Atomic Energy and Industry," as well as other awards for diligent long-term work and high performance. The farewell will take place on August 25, 2026, at 8:00 AM in the assembly hall of the Balakhna branch of NNGU at 21 Dzerzhinsky Street.
