This was warned by general practitioner Denis Prokofyev in an interview for the publication "Abzac." Horseflies bite less painfully than mosquitoes, but their bites can have serious consequences. During a bite, the insect releases saliva containing bacteria, such as the causative agents of anthrax, staphylococcus, and other infections. This can lead to the development of inflammatory processes and also cause allergic reactions: redness, itching, and swelling at the bite site.
