A woman from Nizhny Novgorod was charged with a criminal offense for the fictitious registration of a migrant.
On August 16, 2026, at 14:17, incidents were reported in Nizhny Novgorod, where a criminal case was initiated against a 32-year-old local resident who attempted to fictitiously register a foreign citizen. This was reported by the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs for the region. The violation was detected by employees of the migration department along with an officer from police department No. 1. According to law enforcement, the woman went to a multifunctional center with documents to register the foreigner at her place of residence on Yulius Fuchik Street. However, the foreign citizen did not actually live at the specified address and had no intention of staying there. The case was initiated under Article 322.3 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation for the fictitious registration of a foreign citizen or stateless person at a place of residence in Russia. A travel restriction was placed on the suspect. It was previously reported that a fast food outlet in Sormovo was closed for two weeks due to violations of migration legislation.
