The Nizhny Novgorod "Prosthetics and Orthopedics Center" ("CPO") has attracted a preferential loan of 50 million rubles under the program to support small technological companies.
The state program for preferential business lending is implemented by the subsidiary of the SME Corporation - SME Bank - as part of the national project "Effective and Competitive Economy." Financing is provided with the participation of the Ministry of Economic Development of Russia and the SME Corporation (VEB.RF group) using the "umbrella" guarantee mechanism.
The "Prosthetics and Orthopedics Center" is one of the Russian manufacturers of upper and lower limb prostheses, including products with bionic control, as well as individual orthoses and orthopedic shoes. The company independently develops and produces modern rehabilitation aids and supports patients at all stages of recovery.
"In October 2025, with state support, a modern rehabilitation complex was opened at the enterprise. Preferential financing will allow increasing the production volumes of modern prosthetic and orthopedic products. Additional capacities will help provide more people, including participants in the special military operation, with the necessary rehabilitation aids. During the operation of the 'umbrella guarantees' program, seven Nizhny Novgorod enterprises attracted preferential financing totaling over 1.2 billion rubles," noted the Deputy Governor of the Nizhny Novgorod Region, Yegor Polyakov.
Rehabilitation in the high-tech complex is provided free of charge within the framework of existing state financing mechanisms.
"Thanks to the preferential loan, the enterprise will be able to increase the production volume of modern prostheses by more than 25 percent - from 800 to 1,100 products per year, expand its capabilities to assist patients, and reduce the time to obtain the necessary rehabilitation aids by 30 percent," said the Minister of Industry, Trade, and Entrepreneurship of the Nizhny Novgorod Region, Maxim Cherkasov.
The funds from the preferential loan will be directed by the enterprise to increase the procurement of components for the production of modern prosthetic and orthopedic products. This will allow providing high-tech assistance to a larger number of patients in need of prosthetics, including veterans of the special military operation.
"Modern prosthetics is a high-tech industry that requires constant investment in development, production technologies, and quality improvement of products. Preferential financing will ensure uninterrupted production, timely procurement of necessary components, and increase the volume of assistance to patients. It is especially important that, thanks to this, more people, including veterans of the special military operation, will be able to receive modern rehabilitation aids faster and undergo a full course of recovery. For us, it is important not only to create new products but also to help people return to an active life," noted Dmitry Samoylov, General Director of LLC "CPO."
The joint program of the Ministry of Economic Development of Russia and the SME Corporation allows small technological companies to attract preferential financing for the implementation of projects related to the development and production of their own high-tech products.
"High-tech SMEs in the field of medical technologies create products that have great social significance and simultaneously possess high growth potential. Supporting such enterprises allows scaling domestic developments, strengthening the technological sovereignty of the country, and increasing the availability of modern rehabilitation aids for citizens," said Alexander Isayevich, General Director of the SME Corporation and Chairman of the Supervisory Board of SME Bank.
