The Ministry of Health of the Nizhny Novgorod Region summarized the work of medical specialists at the "Nizhny Novgorod Family" festival, which took place in Nizhny Novgorod last week. About 120 adults and children participated in the work of the "medical platform." They took the opportunity to undergo free health express diagnostics and receive recommendations from doctors of various specialties. As noted by the department, the medical component of the festival was conducted in fulfillment of the tasks of the national project "Sustainable and Active Life." Among them is the development of preventive healthcare, including the conduct of health screenings and preventive medical examinations.
Doctors from City Polyclinic No. 30 organized the work of the "Health Pavilion." Here, about 50 adults underwent bioimpedance analysis, learning about body composition and biological age. Each patient was given individual recommendations for disease prevention and lifestyle correction.
A dentist from the Nizhny Novgorod Regional Dentistry actively participated in the festival, examining more than 50 adults and children. The most common issues found among those examined were cavities and diseases of the oral mucosa. All participants in the dental reception underwent oncological screening using a fluorescent dental endoscope.
Special attention was paid to children's health. A mobile team from Children's City Polyclinic No. 39 examined about 70 young festival participants. The team included a pediatrician, neurologist, urologist surgeon, otorhinolaryngologist, traumatologist, ophthalmologist, endocrinologist, and dentist. In addition to consultations from specialists, children underwent electrocardiography and ultrasound of the heart.
"Such mobile preventive examinations allow for the early detection of diseases when they are most amenable to correction. Moreover, we draw parents' attention to the importance of regular preventive examinations," said Inna Kondratieva, chief physician of Children's City Polyclinic No. 39.
Specialists from the Nizhny Novgorod Regional Center for Public Health and Medical Prevention, in turn, conducted useful neurogymnastics sessions for festival guests. Guests performed a set of exercises to develop cognitive functions, attention, and coordination of movements.
As a result of the examinations, the most commonly identified disorders were flat feet, postural disorders, as well as neurological and surgical diseases. Several children were diagnosed with excess body weight and obesity, while among eye disorders, myopia and astigmatism were the most frequently encountered.
In addition to recommendations for further monitoring, patients received referrals for additional examinations. School-aged children, based on the results of the examinations, will automatically receive permits for physical education and sports activities.
Let us remind you that the national project "Sustainable and Active Life" has been implemented in the country since 2025 by order of the President of Russia, Vladimir Putin. It aims to increase life expectancy by 2030 and involves the renovation of polyclinics, outpatient clinics, feldsher-midwife stations, attracting qualified medical personnel to medical institutions, applying new approaches in prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of chronic diseases, improving emergency medical care and rehabilitation systems, developing a network of national research centers, and digitizing the industry.
