More than 160,000 residents of Nizhny Novgorod are participating in the Ministry of Labor project.

      More than 160,000 schoolchildren and students from the Nizhny Novgorod region participated in the events of the Russian Ministry of Labor's project on career guidance and youth routing. The project started in the region in February 2026. Participants get acquainted with potential employers, visit enterprises, and can receive individual employment assistance plans by contacting career centers. The initiative is part of the national project "Personnel," which is being implemented under the instruction of the President of the Russian Federation, Vladimir Putin. "Since the start of the project, more than 160,000 young people have participated. This is about every third schoolchild and every second student in Nizhny Novgorod," emphasized the Deputy Governor of the Nizhny Novgorod region, Yegor Polyakov. The program is implemented by the Nizhny Novgorod career center "Work of Russia" in collaboration with the Ministry of Education of the Nizhny Novgorod region and the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Nizhny Novgorod region. Its formation takes into account the forecast of regional personnel needs for the coming years. As noted by the Minister of Demography and Human Capital Development of the Nizhny Novgorod region, Igor Pantyukhin, more than 160,000 people participated in career guidance events during the academic year. The format includes meetings with professionals, excursions to enterprises, and modern gaming technologies. Specialists from the "Work of Russia" center conducted more than 800 thematic events, including classes using VR glasses "The World of Professions through a Virtual Lens." As part of the all-Russian action "Week without Turnstiles," schoolchildren and students visited 50 enterprises in the region, where they learned about working professions such as radio assembler, welder, regulator, lathe operator, engineer, machine operator, and conveyor line worker. Acting Director of the Nizhny Novgorod career center "Work of Russia," Elena Vidyaeva, noted that the in-person format allows young people to get acquainted with the production process and communicate with employers.

      The project will continue in the next academic year. It is planned to expand the list of partner enterprises and supplement the program with new interactive formats.
