Those who were poisoned at the "Mola mola" cafe on Alekseevskaya have been discharged from the hospital.
On July 15, 2026, at 12:19, Society All visitors of the Nizhny Novgorod café "Mola mola" who sought medical assistance after food poisoning have been discharged from the hospital. This was reported by the deputy head of the regional Rospotrebnadzor, Natalia Sadykova, at a press conference at the NOIC, as reported by a correspondent from NIA "Nizhny Novgorod."
Recall that after breakfast at the establishment, five adults felt unwell. A child, who was also considered among the affected, was treated for a different condition. As clarified by Rospotrebnadzor, the minor was found to have an infection unrelated to the café.
According to Sadykova, among the victims were not only residents of Nizhny Novgorod but also residents of Tatarstan and Moscow. Now everyone has recovered, and some have even managed to go on vacation abroad.
After the mass poisoning, the Investigative Committee opened a criminal case for providing services that do not meet safety requirements. The head of the Investigative Committee, Alexander Bastrykin, instructed to report on the results of the investigation.
During the inspection, Rospotrebnadzor discovered several sanitary violations in the café. Specialists found that raw materials and finished products, clean and dirty dishes, as well as visitors and staff, crossed paths in the kitchen. In addition, the establishment lacked disinfectants, and dining utensils were washed in a tub meant for kitchen inventory.
Sadykova explained that the establishment previously operated as a coffee shop and met the requirements. However, after expanding the menu, the kitchen was not restructured for the new format, which led to violations of technological processes.
The court suspended the operation of the café "Mola mola" for 70 days. After the suspension period ends, Rospotrebnadzor will check whether all violations have been eliminated. If the owners address these issues earlier, they can appeal to the court to have the café's operation checked before the established deadline.
The supervisory agency added that this case will not lead to mass inspections of other cafés. According to the deputy head, unscheduled inspections are conducted only when there are legal grounds, such as at the request of the prosecutor's office or by order of the government.
Earlier, it was reported that the Investigative Committee opened a case after a mass poisoning of children at eco-camps near Perevoz. NIA "Nizhny Novgorod" has channels on Telegram and MAX.
