Two prisoners were pardoned in the Nizhny Novgorod region in 2026.

      July 16, 2026 16:06 Society Two convicted individuals from Nizhny Novgorod have been pardoned in the Nizhny Novgorod region since the beginning of 2026, reported NIA "Nizhny Novgorod" from the regional state-legal department. In March 2026, Russian President Vladimir Putin signed a decree on the pardon of two women who were serving their sentences. The petitions of both inmates were considered by the regional commission on pardons back in late 2025. Since the beginning of this year, the commission has reviewed eight petitions.
