The dates of the theater festival "Specific" in Nizhny Novgorod have been announced.

      The theater festival "Specific" (16+) will take place in Nizhny Novgorod for the fourth time. Traditionally, it will be held in two stages: from July 31 to August 2 and from August 7 to 9.

      "Specific" is the only festival project in Russia where performances are created in unusual urban spaces. Over the years, venues have included a trading barge, a locomotive depot, an empty shopping center, trams, and boats.

      Deputy Governor of the Nizhny Novgorod region Oleg Berkovich noted that the festival appeared long before working with urban environments and industrial spaces became a common trend, and in many ways, it contributed to its formation. According to him, "Specific" offers a new route through the city every year, new venues, and new ways of communicating with the audience.

      "It has transformed from a local initiative into one of the most recognizable cultural brands of Nizhny Novgorod and has maintained its reputation as a project that knows how to find the unexpected even where everyone has already gotten used to passing by," emphasized Berkovich.

      Especially for the festival, leading Russian directors create productions in various genres—from performances based on Russian classics to immersive installations and experimental works. At the same time, the selected urban spaces become part of the dramaturgy and artistic concept.

      In the new season, directors Yuri Kvyatkovsky, Philipp Gurevich, Sergey Tonyshev, Denis Paramonov, Vladimir Danay, and other authors will present their works.

      The sale of subscriptions for performances during the first and second weekends of the festival is already open. The full program is promised to be presented soon.
