According to the results of the first quarter of 2026, residents on average need 23 days to find a job. Such data was provided by the Ministry of Labor of the Russian Federation after analyzing the results of the comprehensive modernization of employment centers in the regions of the country. The Nizhny Novgorod region showed some of the best indicators of project effectiveness. The update of the employment service is part of the federal project "Labor Market Management" of the national project "Personnel," which is being implemented on the instructions of the President of Russia, Vladimir Putin. In the region, the modernization covered the entire network of employment centers and was carried out from 2021 to 2026. Preliminary results were summarized in 29 subjects of the first and second phases, including the Nizhny Novgorod region. The main result is the reduction in job search time. Now, it takes Nizhny Novgorod residents an average of 23 days. In 2025, the figure was 22 days, and in 2024, it was 63 days. Despite the changing external conditions, the region managed to maintain a high employment rate almost at the previous level. The Minister of Demography and Human Capital Development of the Nizhny Novgorod region, Igor Pantyukhin, noted that the results of the first quarter of 2026 confirmed the effectiveness of the transformations carried out. Positive dynamics are also noted in working with the unemployed. The average duration of citizens' registration in employment centers is 58 days. According to Elena Vidyaeva, acting director of the Nizhny Novgorod "Russia Works" personnel center, modernization has changed the very approach to organizing work. The introduction of client-centered services, targeted job matching, and more active work with employers helped reduce the time from application to job placement to 23 days. In 2025, more than 480 employment centers were modernized in 17 regions of the country as part of the national project "Personnel." Overall, over 1,200 personnel centers have already been updated across Russia. In the Nizhny Novgorod region, modernization affected 54 centers. It was previously reported that graduates from other regions are offered up to 225,000 rubles for relocating to work in the Nizhny Novgorod region.
