Ten people drowned in the Nizhny Novgorod region over the week.

      On July 13, 2026, at 10:16 Incidents Over the past week, 10 incidents on the water have been registered in the Nizhny Novgorod region, resulting in the deaths of 10 people. Among the victims is one child. This was reported by the regional emergency management agency. The most tragic day was Sunday, July 12. On that day, six adults and a teenager died. Two men drowned in the Sosnovsky and Shatkovsky districts. An accident also occurred in Vorotynets. A woman drowning in the Gremyachka River was pulled from the water, but she could not be saved. She died without regaining consciousness. In the Volodarsky district, two people drowned in the Lukh River, including a 13-year-old teenager. He tried to save a 23-year-old girl who began to drown, but ultimately both perished. On July 9, a 77-year-old man drowned in the Zemsnaryad Lake in Avtozavod, and on July 8, a man's body was retrieved from Lake Meshcherskoye in Kanavino. Another tragic incident occurred on July 7 in Dzerzhinsk - an unknown man drowned in an unnamed body of water near house No. 35 on Shukhova Street in the Dacha settlement.
