VTB increased the issuance of electronic guarantees for small and medium-sized businesses by 76%

July 6, 2026 14:00 Economy VTB notes a steady growth in demand for documentary products from small and medium-sized businesses following an increase in the volume of purchases by state companies. Since the beginning of 2026, the number of clients using bank guarantees has increased by 31%, while the issuance of electronic bank guarantees has grown by 76%. This was stated by VTB Board Member Ruslan Yeremenko during the Innoprom-2026 international industrial exhibition.

Since the beginning of 2026, both the number of clients receiving bank guarantees has increased by 31% compared to the same period last year, and the number of guarantees issued has grown by 25%.

      Electronic Bank Guarantees

The main driver of growth has been electronic bank guarantees. Their number has increased by 76%, and the volume of issuances has grown by 63%. The client base for this product has increased by 70% over the year. At the same time, the share of electronic guarantees reached 60% of the total volume compared to 45% a year earlier. For small businesses, the share of remote guarantees already exceeds 80%.

      VTB's Guarantee Portfolio

VTB's portfolio of bank guarantees in the small and medium-sized business segment has exceeded 900 billion rubles, increasing by 15% year-on-year. The number of active guarantees has grown by 15%, while the portfolio of electronic bank guarantees has increased by 53%.

"According to the Ministry of Finance of Russia, the volume of contracts between state companies and SMEs in the first quarter of 2026 has increased more than threefold. The expansion of small and medium-sized businesses' participation in procurement raises companies' need for quick and convenient contract security tools. That is why we are consistently developing digital services that allow for the complete remote issuance of bank guarantees in the shortest possible time," stated Ruslan Yeremenko.

The largest volume of sales of documentary products over the first 5 months of 2026 comes from Krasnodar Krai (13 billion rubles), the Republic of Tatarstan (12 billion rubles), Samara Region (9 billion rubles), Krasnoyarsk Krai (9 billion rubles), and Chelyabinsk Region (8 billion rubles).
