The Nizhny Novgorod city administration is selecting locations for intercepting parking lots.

      July 3, 2026 14:42 Society The Administration of Nizhny Novgorod is selecting land plots for the placement of intercepting parking lots. This is reported by pravda-nn.ru, citing the city’s Department of Transport and Road Management. Several municipal areas located near transport interchange hubs have already been considered. It is assumed that the selected sites should allow for the organization of a sufficient number of parking spaces. The department clarified that after a comprehensive assessment of the proposed sites, a location will be determined for the implementation of a pilot project for intercepting parking space. The idea of creating such parking lots has been discussed in the city for several years. Previously, options for placing parking lots near the "Park Kultury" metro station, the "Varya" railway station, in Sennaya Square, and in Verkhnie Pechery were considered. The city hall also reminded that motorists can already use several existing free parking lots as intercepting ones: at the "Komsomolskaya" metro station, near the "Lenta" shopping center on Moskovskoye Highway, and on Lenin Avenue, at the "Metro" shopping center on Betankura Street, as well as at the "Shcherbinki" bus station from the side of the road to the "Mega" shopping center. In addition, the city authorities are considering the possibility of organizing additional paid parking spaces on the streets of Nizhny Novgorod.
