Nizhny Novgorod authorities want to introduce subsidies for breeding livestock.
July 3, 2026 14:25 Economy In the Nizhny Novgorod region, there are plans to support enterprises operating in the field of breeding livestock. A draft order from the regional Ministry of Agriculture regarding the procedure for providing subsidies is currently undergoing anti-corruption expertise. The document establishes the rules for allocating funds from the regional budget to reimburse part of the costs. Subsidies will be provided within the framework of the departmental project "Support for specific areas of development in the agricultural sector," which is part of the state program "Development of the agro-industrial complex of the Nizhny Novgorod region." Support will be compensatory in nature. Farmers are expected to be reimbursed for part of the expenses incurred in the current and previous years, excluding VAT. The list of expenses includes costs for artificial insemination of agricultural animals. This refers to the payment for specialized services, the purchase of sperm products, equipment and consumables, veterinary drugs, as well as the payment for the labor of specialists and their professional development. In addition, subsidies are provided for the purchase of breeding young cattle - both dairy and meat breeds, breeding bulls and calves, as well as young sheep and goats. At the same time, reimbursement of costs for purchasing bulls will be available to organizations engaged in artificial insemination. It was previously reported that in 2026, about 8.9 billion rubles will be allocated for the support of the agro-industrial complex in the region from federal and regional budgets.
