      On July 2, 2026, at 16:42, incidents The Chairman of the Investigative Committee of Russia, Alexander Bastrykin, will be presented with a report on the investigation into the circumstances of the poisoning of visitors at a café in Nizhny Novgorod. This was reported by the press service of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation.

      Recall that after breakfast at one of the popular establishments on Alekseevskaya Street, five adults and one child sought medical assistance with complaints of deteriorating health. The boy was hospitalized in an infectious disease hospital. Preliminary reports suggest that the victims were infected with salmonellosis.

      A criminal case has been initiated under Article 238 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (provision of services that do not meet safety requirements). Investigators, in cooperation with specialists from Rospotrebnadzor, organized the necessary procedures and sanitary-epidemiological measures to establish all the circumstances of the incident.

      The café's operations have been suspended. The regional prosecutor's office has also taken an interest in the case.

      Chairman of the Investigative Committee of Russia, Alexander Bastrykin, instructed the acting head of the regional investigative department, Alexander Dynkov, to present a report on the progress of the investigation and the established circumstances of the incident.
