The repair of the new Borsky Bridge was completed in three weeks.

      On June 30, 2026, at 13:36, Society The repair of the new Bor Bridge over the Volga and the adjacent sections of the Nizhny Novgorod - Shakhunya - Kirov highway has been completed. The work to eliminate rutting was carried out in three weeks as part of the national project "Infrastructure for Life," the regional State Administration of Roads reported. The total cost of the contract amounted to 179 million rubles. The scope of work included three sections: the bridge itself over the Volga, the so-called floodplain bridges, and the section of the Nizhny Novgorod - Shakhunya - Kirov highway (Bor Dam). Initially, the repair of the last segment was scheduled for 2027, but the contractor completed it this season. The need for repairs was associated with the intensive wear of the surface. Last year, during the restoration of the old Bor Bridge, all traffic was redirected to the new bridge. The load significantly increased, leading to the formation of ruts and local surface defects. Comprehensive surface renewal was carried out on all sections: the upper layer of asphalt concrete, up to three centimeters thick, was milled using the cold milling method, then new asphalt concrete was laid, and thermoplastic marking with reflective elements was applied. After the work was completed, the traffic scheme on the new Bor Bridge changed: now two lanes are open for exiting Nizhny Novgorod. Reversible traffic has been canceled, and the corresponding road signs have been dismantled. In the near future, it is planned to lift the speed limit of 40 km/h. We remind you that the new Bor Bridge was opened in 2017. The current repair is the first since its commissioning. Since 2019, more than 6,600 kilometers of roads have been repaired in the Nizhny Novgorod region under the national project "Infrastructure for Life," and about 140 kilometers of regional highways have been built and reconstructed. Only in 2025, 761 kilometers of the road network were brought to regulatory condition against a plan of 626 kilometers.
