The Mayakovsky monument in Dzerzhinsk will be renovated by 2027.

      Recall that the head of the Investigative Committee of Russia, Alexander Bastrykin, became interested in the condition of the monument.

      The pedestal in Mayakovsky Square was installed in 1965, and since then, no major repairs have been carried out. Over time, the structure began to deteriorate: cracks appeared on the surface, and the granite cladding began to crumble in places.

      At the same time, funds were allocated for repairs in 2024, but the work never started.

      The pedestal is made of concrete and clad with granite slabs, which makes it wear out faster over time. Under the influence of moisture and temperature fluctuations, the cladding deteriorates approximately every 3-5 years.

      Earlier, the city administration appealed to A.A. Shchitov, a member of the Russian and Moscow unions of artists, to assess the condition of the monument. He suggested replacing the pedestal with a solid granite block.

      The exact cost of the work will be determined after the examination of the concrete base. After that, the monument is planned to be updated next year.
