Photos from the construction site of the hotel at the site of "Book Nizhny Novgorod" have been published.

      On June 30, 2026, at 12:49, Society: The preparation of the site for the construction of a hotel in Minin and Pozharsky Square has started in the center of Nizhny Novgorod. The building is intended to be completed by 2030.

      Let us remind you that the project within the boundaries of Minin and Pozharsky Square, Alekseevskaya and Varvarskaya streets is being implemented by LLC "Telegraf," which has signed a lease agreement with the Ministry of Property.

      Construction will take place on the site of the former "Book Nizhny Novgorod" store, which was demolished by court order. In addition, the buildings of the former regional blood center named after Klimova on Varvarskaya Street have been dismantled.

      A sketch of the future hotel with 120 rooms was presented a year ago at the CIPR conference (12+). The hotel will have variable heights—from five to seven above-ground levels—and will occupy about 12,000 square meters. The project also includes an underground parking lot.

      Natural materials—marble and granite—will be predominantly used in the building's finishing. Artistic lighting will be installed on the facade. This spring, the city approved the architectural appearance of the hotel. The company must obtain a construction permit by February 5, 2028.

      The project layout was approved in March of last year. Preliminary estimates suggest that the investor's funding for construction is around 2.1 billion rubles. Currently, concrete foundations and fences can be seen at the construction site, where project renderings with the history of the location and sketches of the hotel are displayed.
