This was reported by NIA "Nizhny Novgorod" from the Nizhny Novgorod Museum-Reserve. Currently, access to the internal premises of the tower has been provided. Cleaning and removal of construction debris are now underway.
"This is a priority measure necessary for the subsequent detailed inspection and assessment of the condition of the object," the museum noted.
Let us remind you that back in April 2025, the head of the branch museum "Nizhny Novgorod Kremlin," Stepan Petushin, announced plans to uncover the tower.
"The White Tower has been bricked up for about 200 years. Now we are starting to 'unpack' it little by little to understand what is inside. Even we are interested in studying it scientifically," he noted at that time.
Additionally, it was mentioned that in the fall, two towers - the Koromyslov and the Clock Tower - will be opened to visitors in the Kremlin. They will feature museum spaces. It is planned that visiting the towers will only be possible as part of summer or winter museum routes.
"Currently, the implementation of museum projects in the Koromyslov and Clock Towers is at the stage of preparing the infrastructure," the museum added.
Earlier, it was reported that repair and restoration work in the 10th building of the Nizhny Novgorod Kremlin is planned to be completed this coming winter.
