A new service has been launched to simplify entry into the wholesale electricity market.

      PJSC "MTS" has launched a new service that significantly simplifies the entry of industrial enterprises into the wholesale electricity market (WEM). The solution is designed for factories and productions with a total capacity of 750 kW and above. The service is aimed at a wide range of industrial enterprises, including automotive, machine engineering, metallurgy, chemical industry, greenhouse farms, refrigerated warehouses, and data centers. The new service takes on all bureaucratic and technical burdens, guiding the client from calculating benefits to receiving the first bill. The list of services includes document preparation and interaction with regulators, agreeing on delivery points, and installing and configuring the commercial accounting system. An important advantage is that the installed equipment remains the property of the client and is not tied to a specific supplier. This allows for changing the sales organization if necessary or returning to the retail market without the need to restructure the accounting system. Data can be stored on various resources depending on security requirements. Entering the wholesale energy market allows companies to significantly reduce costs. According to estimates, for enterprises with a capacity of up to 20 MW, savings can amount to tens of millions of rubles per year. For factories with a capacity of over 20 MW, such as shipbuilding yards and metallurgical plants, the benefit can be measured in hundreds of millions of rubles. Currently, many enterprises continue to purchase electricity through sales companies and overpay because they fear the complicated procedure of entering the energy market. The new information platform completely addresses this issue: the service helps calculate benefits, go through all approvals, and install the accounting system so that the client can pay at wholesale prices. At the same time, the accounting will remain with the customer in any case, and it does not need to be changed when switching suppliers. As noted by the director of MTS in the Nizhny Novgorod region, Andrey Belov, for energy-intensive industries in the region, this is an opportunity to reduce production costs and direct the saved funds towards development and modernization.
