The famous Nizhny Novgorod educator in mathematics and physics, Alla Sergeyevna Baranova, passed away at the age of 88. This was reported by the press service of NNGASU. Alla Sergeyevna was born on May 15, 1939, in the city of Gorky. She graduated from the Faculty of Physics of Gorky State University named after N.I. Lobachevsky with a degree in "Physics." Since 1963, she began her professional career at the Gorky Research Institute of Physics and Technology (GIFTI). In 1973, she completed her postgraduate studies at Gorky University named after Lobachevsky in the specialty of "Solid State Physics." A year later, she defended her dissertation, earning the academic degree of Candidate of Physical and Mathematical Sciences. Until 1977, she worked as a junior researcher at the Gorky Engineering and Construction Institute named after V.P. Chkalov. She was then appointed as a senior lecturer in the Department of Construction and Theoretical Mechanics. In 1988, she was promoted to associate professor in the same department. From 2004 to 2014, she worked in the Department of Theoretical Mechanics.
After completing her teaching career at the university, Alla Sergeyevna actively assisted Nizhny Novgorod schoolchildren and graduates in preparing for exams.
IA "Vremya N" expresses condolences to the family and friends of Alla Baranova. The farewell will take place on July 1 at 11:00 at the Bugrovsky Cemetery (Pushkina, 34).
