68 residents of emergency housing in Shakhunya received keys to new apartments.
On June 26, 2026, at 19:37, Society In the municipal district of the city of Shakhunya, Nizhny Novgorod region, 68 residents who previously lived in emergency housing received apartments in a new building. Their living conditions improved thanks to the implementation of a regional targeted program for relocating citizens from emergency housing recognized as such from January 1, 2017, to January 1, 2022. The program operates within the framework of the national project "Infrastructure for Life." For the resettlers, 37 apartments were purchased in a new five-story building on Komsomolskaya Street. This is where the new residents will move in the near future. The head of the local government, Anton Pugachev, reported that the building is fully prepared for comfortable living. The building is connected to central heating, provided with electricity, and has cold and hot water supply systems. The area next to the building has been improved, and a playground has been equipped for children. Thanks to the construction of the building, more than 1,300 square meters of emergency housing have been vacated. "Our specialists maintain constant control over the timelines and quality of construction, as well as related activities, to ensure that the resettlement is carried out in compliance with all requirements and standards. We continue to address the task of providing residents of the region with comfortable and safe housing," noted Dmitry Grunichev, Minister of Construction of the Nizhny Novgorod region.
