34 Nizhny Novgorod agrarians have been awarded departmental and regional prizes.
34 Nizhny Novgorod agrarians were awarded departmental and regional awards at the agro-industrial exhibition "Field Day - 2026." The event took place on June 26 at the experimental field of the Nizhny Novgorod Scientific Research Institute of Agriculture in the village of the Selection Station in the Kstovo district of Nizhny Novgorod. The exhibition brought together more than 140 agricultural enterprises and was attended by over 2,000 guests.
Deputy Governor of the Nizhny Novgorod Region Yegor Polyakov noted that the region ranks first in the Volga Federal District for potato production, third for flax fiber, and fourth for egg production. In the first five months of 2026, meat production in the region increased by 11%, and egg production by 10%.
"Despite the challenging economic situation, our agrarians fully ensure the food security of the Nizhny Novgorod region. We are proud of the achievements of the region's farms and understand that behind each of them stands not only technology and techniques but, above all, people, their professionalism, responsibility, and sincere love for their native land," said Yegor Polyakov.
The solemn award ceremony was attended by Deputy Chairpersons of the Government of the Nizhny Novgorod Region Ekaterina Solntseva and Dmitry Starostin, Acting Chairman of the Legislative Assembly of the region, member of the "United Russia" faction Denis Bakiyev, Minister of Agriculture and Food Resources of the region Nikolai Denisov, and Chairman of the Regional Veterinary Committee Mikhail Kuryumov.
"The main value of our agro-industrial complex is people. They are the backbone of the industry and the key to its sustainable development. Only those who truly love the land work on it. These are people of special resilience who cope with any challenges. Their work is not just a job; it is a calling and sincere dedication to the cause. Our task is to create all conditions for their work to be duly appreciated, so that young people see agriculture not as a trial but as a worthy, respected, and promising endeavor," emphasized Nikolai Denisov.
"Field Day" in the Nizhny Novgorod region is not just an exhibition of equipment and achievements. It is an excellent opportunity for everyone working on the land to meet face to face: farmers can communicate with equipment manufacturers, and agrarians from different farms can share experiences and find new ideas for development. Such meetings directly help solve the main task - to provide the country with quality food products and strengthen our agriculture. All this is part of a large effort to ensure the food security of the country," noted Denis Bakiyev.
