      A resident of Nizhny Novgorod is accused of fraud committed on a particularly large scale as part of an organized group. This was reported by the official representative of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia, Irina Volk. According to the investigation, the perpetrator and her accomplices established illegal activities for providing medical services in specialized centers in the Kanavinsky and Soviet districts of Nizhny Novgorod. From February 2019 to March 2021, employees of these organizations offered free health diagnostics and consultations with doctors. As a result, clients were informed that they had serious illnesses, which could only be treated with a set of procedures at the same medical centers, but on a paid basis. Employees helped citizens obtain loans to pay for treatment, and then conducted manipulations that supposedly contributed to recovery. There is information that none of the participants in the fraudulent scheme had medical education, and diagnostics were carried out using devices that are not medical equipment. The investigation has identified 83 victims, who paid over 6.2 million rubles for pseudo-medical services. The criminal case has been transferred to the Soviet District Court of Nizhny Novgorod. Irina Volk also reported that the same court had previously considered a criminal case against three alleged accomplices of the illegal activity.
